“Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman’s ambitious and boundary-pushing scholars program is well under way in Beijing. Designed by famed architect Robert A.M. Stern, the Stephen A. Schwarzman College is located on the campus of Tsinghua University and welcomed its first class of “future leaders” in 2016. The school was designed to reflect the cultures of its students, melding Eastern and Western principles in a collaborative and technologically advanced space. Its layout, a rectangular building with both interior and exterior courtyards, was modeled on the Oxford and Cambridge campuses and the courtyard houses popular in China.”
