Chosen for one of the most selective postgraduate programs in the world, this inaugural class of Scholars will receive a fully funded scholarship to study at the new Schwarzman College at the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing. Schwarzman Scholars is designed to prepare its graduates to build stronger relationships between China and a rapidly changing world and to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st Century.

Addison Scott McLamb will graduate Phi Beta Kappa from Wake Forest in May 2016. A National Merit Scholar, he ranks 5th of 5,575 senior cadets on the Army’s Order of Merit List. McLamb is a Chinese major, and has also studied Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. He has held diverse leadership positions with organizations ranging from literary societies to judicial affairs. McLamb’s most rewarding challenge has been learning how to inspire large organizations—like Wake Forest’s 102-cadet ROTC program. Alex Parra is a Chemical Engineering senior at the United States Military Academy. He is president of Tau Beta Pi, an honor engineering society, where he leads tutoring and STEM-outreach events for younger students.
