Chosen for one of the most selective postgraduate programs in the world, Scholars will receive a fully funded scholarship to study at the new Schwarzman College at the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing. Schwarzman Scholars is designed to prepare its graduates to build stronger relationships between China and a rapidly changing world and to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st Century.

Born in Benghazi, Libya, Abdullah opened his first business in solar energy with no capital at the age of 19. As the civil war broke in 2011, he was determined to contribute to the re-birth of his country. This decision brought him to the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, to study business with Communication Studies. At UNNC, he became the first foreign president of the student union, where he is currently running Integration, a university funded project aiming to foster an inclusive campus life for both domestic and international students. McLamb is a Chinese major, and has also studied Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. He has held diverse leadership positions with organizations ranging from literary societies to judicial affairs. McLamb’s most rewarding challenge has been learning how to inspire large organizations—like Wake Forest’s 102-cadet ROTC program.
